The Washback Effect of the NMET on Senir English Teaching and Learning
Abstract
This thesis discusses the definitions of washback, and the study of it in China and abroad. Then, the author analyzes the participants- teachers and students. The author shows her attitudes towards teaching and learning in senior English teaching, and gives a lot of advice. According to the characteristics, of English teaching and learning the focus of the present study is to make a comparison between Senior III and Senior II from four aspects: teaching contents, teaching methods, teaching pace, and attitudes towards teaching and learning. The major findings of the present study are briefly summarized as follows: First, a significant difference exists between Senior III and Senior II English classroom teaching and learning-speaking abilities are more important in senior III. Second, the NMET exerts both positive and negative washbacks on the teaching and learning in senior middle school English classroom. Third, apart from the test itself it is found that many other factors affect the nature of NMET washback.

摘 要
本論文探討了高考英語(yǔ)與高級(jí)中學(xué)英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)的關(guān)系。作者通過比較高3和高2的教學(xué)內(nèi)容、教學(xué)方法以及對(duì)老師和學(xué)生的角色特征分析，并采用課堂觀察、訪談和問卷調(diào)查等手段得出以下結(jié)論：第1，英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)存在顯著差異。高3英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)主要是以考試為目的，為考試而教學(xué)的現(xiàn)象很普遍。相對(duì)而言，高2英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)更加注重語(yǔ)言運(yùn)用能力的培養(yǎng)。第2，高考英語(yǔ)考試對(duì)高中英語(yǔ)課堂教學(xué)既有正而的、也有負(fù)而的反撥作用。正而的反撥作用表現(xiàn)為:它促進(jìn)了教學(xué)大綱的貫徹落實(shí);促使高中教師從單純教授語(yǔ)言知識(shí)向訓(xùn)練語(yǔ)言技能轉(zhuǎn)變等。其負(fù)而的反撥作用包括:大量使用高考材料; 主要訓(xùn)練的是高考英語(yǔ)考試技能而不是英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的使用;課堂學(xué)生很少有機(jī)會(huì)練習(xí)語(yǔ)言的使用;口語(yǔ)沒有得到足夠重視等。第3，除了考試本身以外，作者還發(fā)現(xiàn)有許多非考試因素影高考英語(yǔ)考試反撥作用的性質(zhì)�？荚囍饕怯脕�(lái)為高等學(xué)校選拔優(yōu)秀高中畢業(yè)生的，但考試結(jié)果同時(shí)也被用來(lái)評(píng)價(jià)學(xué)校和教師，因而不可避免會(huì)造成為考試而教學(xué)的情況。此外，學(xué)生、教師等因素也影響了高考英語(yǔ)考試反撥作用的性質(zhì)。
