The Teaching of Writing in the Network Environment

Abstract

In terms of EFL in China, it has been continuously criticized for its inefficiency. Despite many years of effort, most English learners in China are not able to use the language in real communications. It is particularly true for College English Writing Learning. The only way to improve the learning outcomes for many English learners in China is to maximize the use of technology, especially network, in the traditional writing classroom. With the development of technology and the introduction of network-based language learning, the Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) has changed enormously. CALL has developed from its simplest application form-multimedia to Internet. The Internet and the rise of computer-mediated communication in particular have reshaped the uses of computers for the teaching of writing. This paper reviews three main writing teaching methods in English teaching and learning principles underlying the net-based language teaching. Then the thesis discusses teaching principles of writing in the network environment which include positive and negative aspects of using the internet. And finally the thesis discusses the application of network resources in the teaching of writing.

中國(guó)的外語(yǔ)教學(xué)1直以來(lái)受著低效率的困擾。中國(guó)的外語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)者在付出了多年的努力后,仍然難以在實(shí)際交流中自如地使用外語(yǔ)。這種情況在中國(guó)的大學(xué)外語(yǔ)寫作教學(xué)中表現(xiàn)得尤為突出。而提高外語(yǔ)教學(xué)質(zhì)量的1種有效途徑就是在教學(xué)的過(guò)程中盡可能的應(yīng)用現(xiàn)代科技,特別是利用網(wǎng)絡(luò)在傳統(tǒng)的寫作課堂中進(jìn)行外語(yǔ)寫作教學(xué)。隨著技術(shù)發(fā)展和網(wǎng)絡(luò)外語(yǔ)教學(xué)的出現(xiàn),計(jì)算機(jī)輔助外語(yǔ)教學(xué)己經(jīng)由當(dāng)初簡(jiǎn)易的媒體形式發(fā)展成為今大網(wǎng)絡(luò)多樣化形式;ヂ(lián)網(wǎng),尤其是計(jì)算機(jī)為媒介的通訊方式的應(yīng)用,使得計(jì)算機(jī)在外語(yǔ)寫作教學(xué)中的應(yīng)用發(fā)生了巨大變化。本文回顧了3種基于網(wǎng)絡(luò)環(huán)境下的主要的寫作教學(xué)方法和原則。然后探討了包括利用網(wǎng)絡(luò)的利與弊方面的網(wǎng)絡(luò)環(huán)境下的寫作教學(xué)原則。論文最后討論了網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源的利用途徑。
